Touch of Silver - aka - Burleigh and ISH Bruiser
May 23 - ( owners - Sandra and Bill Barclay)
His first 3 phase competition was this last weekend....what a star he was! Really nice dressage test and clean in both stadium and cross country. They finished 3rd in their division, Bill was so pleased. He acted like he had been attending events all his life; golf carts, dogs, kids, flags nothing bothered him, it was great.
Bruiser had a good event also. We have had better rides in dressage but the judge liked what he saw anyway. We jumped very well, clean on stadium and X/C and his pace was consistent and appropriate. We finished second in our division.
Touch of Silver - aka - Burleigh and ISH Bruiser
May 9th - First Show (owners - Sandra and Bill Barclay)
It was really fun! When his barn buddies, particularly Bruiser, were in the ring he was a little on edge but that got better over the 2 days. He did very well spending the night and really liked the fact that a lot of eating goes on at shows. His dressage was very good, the being on edge actually improved his way of going, he was very round and light in the bridle. He won his division in dressage, pulled 2 rails in the stadium ( fences were 18 ") so finished 3rd overall. We were very happy with him. We knew the jumping would be problematic as he just doesn't bother when stadium-type fences are below 2 feet. He can't decide if he should bother to jump or just walk over the thing. Once the fences are about 2'6' he sails right over, so as he moves up in the divisions the jumping should be fine.
